I am the great granddaughter of Japanese immigrants and a native Californian. I grew up questioning everything, soaking up as much culture and subculture as possible, and reveling in the great outdoors. My various professional experiences have honed my problem solving skills and helped to create a well-rounded worldview. Notable career highlights include writing and teaching a college-level course, traveling as a trend forecaster, working at a record label, and singing on TV commercials.
I am preternaturally sensitive to signals within the current and future landscape and am an empathetic researcher and thoughtful storyteller. I seek to do work that is meaningful and to tackle systemic social issues with equal parts empathy and tenacity.
